Nine Mile Point Unit 1 Docket No. 50-220; DPR-63 Special Report, Channel #1 1 Containment Hydrogen Monitoring System Inoperable for Scheduled Preventive Maintenance Gentlemen:
In accordance with Action Statement 4.a of Nine Mile Point Unit 1 Technical Specification Table 3.6.11-2, Accident Monitoring Instrumentation Action Statements, Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC is submitting the following Special Report concerning the inoperability of the Channel #11 Containment Hydrogen Monitoring System.
Description of Event On September 17, 2002, at approximately 1011 hours0.0117 days <br />0.281 hours <br />0.00167 weeks <br />3.846855e-4 months <br />, operators declared the Channel #1I Containment Hydrogen Monitoring System inoperable for scheduled preventive maintenance.
The scheduled preventive maintenance was to calibrate and clean or replace, as necessary, support instrumentation. The preventive maintenance was completed and the Channel #11 Containment Hydrogen Monitoring System was returned to service at approximately 1430 hours0.0166 days <br />0.397 hours <br />0.00236 weeks <br />5.44115e-4 months <br /> on September 21, 2002.
The redundant Channel #12 Containment Hydrogen Monitoring System was verified in service prior to removing Channel #11 from service.
Cause of Event The Channel #11 Containment Hydrogen Monitoring System was declared inoperable in order to perform scheduled preventive maintenance
