RESCHEDULING OF BRAIDWOOD PERMANENT PLANT MODIFICATIONS AND 10 CFR 50.59 INSPECTION TO BE CONDUCTED ALONG WITH THE SAFETY SYSTEM DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE CAPABILITY INSPECTION
Dear Mr. Skolds:
In an effort to improve the efficiency of our baseline inspection process, we have decided at this time, to conduct the Permanent Plant Modifications (Inspection Procedure 71111.17B) and the Changes, Tests, and Experiments (Inspection Procedure 71111.02) inspections during the Safety System Design and Performance Capability Inspection on a pilot basis. Consequently, the Permanent Plant Modification and Changes, Tests, and Experiments inspection scheduled for January 13-17, 2003 will not be performed. This inspection will be conducted along with the Safety System Design and Performance Capability Inspection scheduled for August 29 thru September 12, 2003.
This change has been discussed with your staff. If you have questions regarding the NRC action discussed above, please contact Mr. Zelig Falevits at 847-630-9717 or Mr. David Hills at 630-829-9733.
In accordance with 10 CFR Part 2.790 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
