TASK INTERFACE AGREEMENT (TIA 2001-16) NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION POLICY QUESTIONS ON LICENSEE USE OF RISK TECHNIQUES TO JUSTIFY OPERATION IN UNANALYZED CONDITIONS - BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 2 AND 3 The Operating Reactor Improvements Program, and the Policy and Rulemaking Program staffs have completed their reviews of the policy questions contained in Region IIs Task Interface Agreement (TIA) 2001-16, dated December 7, 2001, regarding the licensees use of probabilistic risk information for justifying operation in unanalyzed conditions. The attached memorandum from W. Beckner to L. Marsh provides NRRs response to the TIA.
