Technical Specification Task Force Meeting Summary The staff met with the Nuclear Energy Institute Technical Specification Task Force (NEI TSTF) on June 4, 2002. Enclosure 1 lists the meeting attendees.
The NEI TSTF provided an "ITS Revision 2, Active TSTF Traveler Overview Report,"
(Enclosure 2). The status of the open TSTFs were discussed, and the following specific TSTF items below were discussed:
The BWROG will arrange a meeting with the NRC Reactor Systems (SRXB) staff to discuss issues related to the BWR refueling TSTFs: TSTF-225 R.2, -226 R.0, -232 R.0, and -296 R.0.
The NEI TSTF will submit TSTF-359 R.7, on Risk Informed Technical Specification (RITS) Initiative 3 by June 17, 2002.
TSTF-372 R.2, on snubber inoperability, will be submitted, and justified with risk supported arguments, that planned snubber inoperability will be limited to one train.
The staff will provide comments to the TSTF on TSTF-373 R.1, on Containment Isolation Valve Completion Times, and TSTF-373 R.2 will be submitted by the NEI TSTF one month thereafter.
The NEI TSTF will submit TSB-026, on the Hydrogen TS after the 10 CFR 50.44 rule change has been approved (which is projected for first quarter of 2003).
The status and completion dates of TSTFs were updated.
The NEI TSTF provided an "ITS Revision 2, Simple Active TSTF Traveler Report," (Enclosure 3), on five recently submitted TSTF's. The TSS will review the newly submitted TSTFs. The "Simple Change Process" was discussed.
The NEI TSTF is working on an updated version of the STS Revision 2 NUREGs, incorporating editorial changes, correcting production errors. The NRC TSS will review the final submittal and if acceptable will adopt as STS Rev 2.2.
The NEI TSTF is producing a Monthly TSTF Status report for licensees, and the TSS will review and provide updates.
Friday, September 13, 2002 was set as the date for the next TSS/NEI TSTF meeting.
