50-390 WVBN-1 June 3, 2002 D. K. Flournoy (423) 365-3803 WBN Unit 1 was manually shutdown on May 3, 2002 at 1620 EST. The shutdown was required for the replacement of a pressurizer spray bypass valve (1-BYV-68-555).
Following the replacement of the valve, the unit was synchronized to the grid at 1242 EST on May 9, 2002.

Summary:
Following the replacement of the valve, the unit was synchronized to the grid at 1242 EST on May 9, 2002. Once returned to service, the unit operated at or near 100% power for the balance of the month. There were no challenges to the pressurizer power operated relief valves or pressurizer safety valves during the month of May 2002.
