OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION - LONG-RANGE PLANNING PROGRAM, ANNUAL UPDATE OF INTEGRATED SCHEDULE (TAC NO. MB4982)
Dear Mr. Skolds:
By letter dated January 16, 2002, AmerGen Energy Company, LLC, provided its annual update (i.e., year 2001) of the integrated schedule of the Long Range Planning Program (LRPP). The LRPP was a requirement imposed by Amendment No. 122, dated May 27, 1988, as License Condition 2.C.(10) of the operating license. Details of the LRPP were delineated in a GPU (Oyster Creeks former owner and licensee) letter of March 16, 1988.
As specified by Section V.A of the LRPP, the licensee will update Categories A, B, C semi-annually and submit the revised listing of projects and completion schedules to the NRC, beginning six months following NRC approval of this plan. Accordingly, the NRC staff acknowledges that submission of the January 16, 2002, letter fulfillsSection V.A of the LRPP for the subject period.
License Condition 2.C.(10) specifies that the schedule for Category A items shall not be changed without prior approval from the NRC. The January 16, 2002, letter contains no new Category A items. The LRPP specifies that all Category A items were to have been completed by Refueling Outage 12, which occurred during 1991. Accordingly, the January 16, 2002, letter does not report completion of any Category A item during the report period.
The NRC staff completed its review of AmerGens January 16, 2002, letter, and found that it is in compliance with License Condition 2.C.(10) and the LRPP.
