1. In a May 13, 2002, Order issued in this proceeding, which concerns the license renewal application of Duke Energy Corporation, seeking approval under 10 C.F.R. Part 54 to renew the operating licenses for its McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2, and Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2, a telephone status conference was tentatively scheduled for June 18, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. As noted in that Order, because of Judge Youngs involvement in a hearing in another case June 11-21 in Tennessee, the time for this conference might need to be reset.
2. Based upon the time demands of the hearing in the other case, and in order that the Board can give this proceeding their full attention, the previously scheduled June 18 conference is reset and will be held on June 26, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. EDT.
3. At this conference, the following matters will be addressed: the current status of the case regarding any continuing settlement negotiations, any continuing Commission proceedings that would affect this proceeding before the Board, and any other items relevant to the status of this case; any relevant information related

to Generic Safety Issue 189 that would affect this proceeding; the staffs objections as expressed in a May 16, 2002, letter to the Board members, regarding a document referenced in the May 13 Order; any questions arising out of the parties filings related to late-filed amendments to Contention 2, including the need for any further argument on these; and any other appropriate subjects relating to this proceeding. All provisions of the May 13, 2002, Order relating to deadlines shall remain the same.

4. Participants should call 301/231-5539 or 1-800/638-8081 a few minutes before 10:00 a.m. and give passcode 8523#, in order to be connected in to the June 26 conference.
