(Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, ) 50-220 Units 1 and 2) ) 50-410 LICENSEE'S SUPPLEMENTAL ANSWER TO FEBRUARY 25, 2002 COMMISSION ORDER TO MODIFY LICENSE FOR INTERIM SAFEGUARDS AND SECURITY MEASURES On February 25, 2002, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission ("NRC" or "Commission") issued an immediately effective order in the captioned matter entitled Order Modifying Licenses (Effective Immediately) ("Order") to, inter alia, Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station ("NMPNS"). NMPNS responded to most of the substantive requirements of the Order in a letter dated March 18, 2002 in accordance with the provisions of 10 C.F.R. § 50.4, as directed by the Order.' Also on that date, NMPNS submitted an "Answer to February 25, 2002 Commission Order to Modify License for Interim Safeguards and Security Measures" pursuant to 10 C.F.R. § 2.202 and Section IV of the Order, consenting to the Order in most respects.
In a letter sent to Mr. Samuel J. Collins, Director, Nuclear Reactor Regulation, on March 18, 2002, in the same dockets, NMPNS also requested an extension of time, in which to answer and request a hearing with respect to certain Interim Compensatory Measures in Attachment 2 of the Order. The request was based on the pendency of The attachment to that letter was transmitted as Safeguards Information.
several analyses needed to provide a basis to determine whether a request for a hearing would be appropriate, and provided for an extension until the date identified in our March 18 submittal for completing the analyses with respect to those matters.
NMPNS has now completed the necessary analyses with respect to all remaining Interim Compensatory Measures (i.e., B.J.b, B.J.c, B.J.d, B.2.a(J), and B.2.a(2)). In accordance with Section IV of the Order and 10 C.F.R. § 2.202, NMPNS hereby answers the Order with respect to those matters, consents to the Order with respect to all remaining Interim Compensatory Measures, and does not request a hearing.
