-Interim Safeguards and Security Measures On March 18, 2002, Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC (NMPNS) submitted its response to the Interim Safeguards and Security Compensatory Measures Order (Order) issued by the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on February 25, 2002.
We indicated in our response that additional time was necessary to complete analyses with respect to certain Interim Compensatory Measures (i.e., Interim Compensatory Measures B.1.b, B.1.c, B.1.d, B.2.a(1), and B.2.a(2)) before we could submit a schedule for achieving compliance with those requirements, in accordance with Section III.C.1 of the Order. We have now completed the analyses with respect to those Interim Compensatory Measures (ICM) and have provided supplemental responses in the attachment to this letter. The attachment contains safeguards information, as defined in 10 CFR 73.21.
NMPNS therefore requests that the attachment be withheld from public disclosure.
Pursuant to Section IV of the Order, on March 18, 2002, NMPNS requested an extension of time to file an Answer and request for hearing with respect to those Interim Compensatory Measures listed above. Pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 2.202(a)(2), the Supplemental Answer to the Order is being transmitted to the NRC under separate cover.
