Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant Lusby, MD PURPOSE:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and the nuclear power industry are cooperatively performing analyses of the risk due to pressurized thermal shock (PTS) at U.S. pressurized-water reactors (PWRs). Calvert Cliffs has volunteered to participate in this effort, the results of which will form part of the basis for a subsequent re-evaluation of the PTS rule, 10 CFR 50.61. This meeting will facilitate assembling Calvert Cliffs specific information needed to review the PTS risk analysis that has been performed by the Calvert Cliffs staff as part of this effort.

PARTICIPANTS:

Participants from the NRC include members of the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (RES), and NRC contractors from Sandia National Laboratory (SNL), Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC),

and Information Systems Laboratory (ISL).
