SUMMARY

OF MARCH 14, 2002, MEETING WITH THE LICENSEE ON POTENTIAL LONG-TERM FIRE BARRIER CORRECTIVE ACTIONS On March 14, 2002, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff met at the NRC headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, with representatives of Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) to discuss potential fire barrier corrective actions at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1.

The purpose of the meeting was for CP&L to provide an overview of its possible actions on resolution of thermo-lag issues. The topics discussed included existing configurations and resolutions, the auxiliary control panel room, the cable spreading room, fire tests and a possible deviation submittal. is a list of the individuals who attended the meeting and Enclosure 2 is the meeting handout material that was supplied by CP&L.
