SUMMARY

(RIS) 2000-18, "GUIDANCE ON MANAGING QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) RECORDS IN ELECTRONIC MEDIA," DATED OCTOBER 23, 2000 On October 23, 2000, NRC issued RIS 2000-18. The RIS provided expanded guidance on managing QA records in electronic media. TVA notified NRC on October 23, 1997 that TVA intended to use optical disks for the storage and retrieval of QA records for BFN, SQN, WBN, and BLN.

The purpose of this letter is to notify NRC that TVA has evaluated the new guidance and intends to comply with RIS 2000-18 for storage and retrieval of QA records for BFN, SQN, WBN, BLN, and the corporate office.
