I would like to personally invite you and other members of your organization to observe a meeting between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and AmerGen Energy Company, LLC, in which the NRC staff will discuss with AmerGen our annual assessment of the safety performance of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station.
The meeting will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2002, Lacey Township Municipal Building, 818 W. Lacey Road in Forked River, NJ. The meeting is open to the public for observation. At the meeting, we will briefly discuss our Reactor Oversight Process and then discuss our assessment of the safety performance of Oyster Creek. Also, AmerGen will discuss pertinent aspects of its performance and future improvement plans. The NRC staff will be available following the meeting to answer questions from you and members of the public regarding the safety performance of Oyster Creek and the role of the NRC in ensuring safe plant operations.
