NIAGARA MOHAWK POWER CORPORATION NINE MILE POINT NUCLEAR STATION UNIT #2

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE Nine Mile Point Unit Two operated with a capacity factor (MDC) of 103.03% and an availability factor of 100.00% for the month of February 2002.

Several minor planned power reductions were performed to make control rod pattern adjustments to compensate for end of cycle fuel depletion. Nine Mile Point Unit 2 commenced coast down operations on February 27, 2002 at 1650 hours0.0191 days <br />0.458 hours <br />0.00273 weeks <br />6.27825e-4 months <br /> when reactor recirculation flow was raised to the maximum allowable value with all operable control rods fully withdrawn.

There were no challenges to the safety relief valves during this reporting period.
