Dear Mr. Peterson:

This letter confirms the communication between Mr. Marc Nichol of Duke Energy and Dr. William Gloersen of my staff on January 7, 2002, concerning a meeting to be conducted on February 19, 2002, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. You requested this meeting to present your plans for spent fuel dry storage at the Catawba Nuclear Station. The location of the meeting will be at the NRC Region II Office, 61 Forsyth Street, SW, Conference Room B of the Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center, Atlanta, GA. This meeting will an open meeting as per "Staff Meetings Open to the Public; Final Policy Statement" (September 20, 2000; 65 FR 56964).

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in NRC's Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS).
