UNIT 1 -

RESPONSE TO NRC REGULATORY ISSUE

SUMMARY

(RIS) 2001-21, "LICENSING ACTION ESTIMATES FOR OPERATING REACTORS" This letter provides our response to the subject RIS dated November 16,

2001, which requested licensees to estimate the number of licensing actions expected to be submitted during the Fiscal Year (FY) 2002 and FY 2003.

Accordingly, we estimate that there will be 14 action requests for FY 2002 and 14 action requests for FY 2003.

Two of these requests have been submitted, TRM-01-08 (New Technical Requirements for Air Conditioning) and TS-01-14 (Post Accident Sampling System Elimination).

None of the requests are currently expected to be classified as a complex review.

If you have any questions about this change, please contact me at (423) 365-1824.

Sincerely, P.

L.
