SUBJECT:
BIG ROCK POINT PLANT RE: WITHDRAWAL OF AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NOS. MA9788 and MA9966)
Dear Mr. Haas:
By letter dated August 10, 2000, you applied for an amendment to Facility Operating License No. DPR-6 for the Big Rock Point Plant. The proposed change would have modified the facility Defueled Technical Specifications to establish a bulk materials control program to define the radiological survey criteria and licensing requirements for removal and burial of demolition debris. In a letter to you, dated January 3, 2001, the NRC staff concluded that your request could not be processed as proposed and requested that you inform us in writing within 60 days of that letter of your decision to either resubmit as a Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Section 20.2002 request or withdraw your docketed proposal. Subsequently, by letter dated February 22, 2001, you withdrew the amendment request and informed us that you plan to submit information to support a 10 CFR 20.2002 request.
The purpose of this letter is to advise that the above cited application is being treated as withdrawn. Notice of Consideration of Issuance of the proposed amendment had not been published in the Federal Register.
