ORDERS APPROVING TRANSFER OF LICENSES FROM COMMONWEALTH EDISON COMPANY TO EXELON GENERATION COMPANY, LLC, AND APPROVING CONFORMING AMENDMENTS (TAC NOS. MA7727, MA7728, MA7729, MA7730, MA7962, MA7721, MA7722, MA7715, MA7716, MA7717, MA7718, MA7770 AND MA7771)

Dear Mr. Kingsley:

The staff has completed its review of your application dated December 20, 1999, as supplemented January 14, March 10, March 23, March 29, and June 16, 2000, requesting approval of the transfer of the Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations Part 50 Facility Operating Licenses for Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2; Byron Station, Units 1 and 2; Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 1, 2 and 3; LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2; Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2; and Zion Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2, held by Commonwealth Edison Company (ComEd) to a new generating company, Exelon Generation Company, LLC, and approval of conforming amendments pursuant to Sections 50.80 and 50.90 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations. The enclosed Orders approve the proposed transfers, subject to the conditions described therein. The Orders also approve conforming license amendments that will be issued and made effective at the time the transfers are completed.

Enclosures 13 and 14 contain the non-proprietary and proprietary versions, respectively, of the staffs safety evaluation related to the preceding actions. The nonproprietary version of the safety evaluation will be placed in the NRC public document room and added to the Agency-wide Documents Access and Management Systems Publicly Available Records System (ADAMS PARS) Library.
