Attachment Page 1 of 1 LR-N09-0205 Revised Commitment Description Justification For Change Original Commitment:

Tables A.2-2, A.2-3, A.4-1, A.4-4, A.4-5, and A.4-6 of PSEG Nuclear's response to mitigating strategies for B.5.b phase 2 and 3 contained the following description

"... charged via diesel driven fire pump(s)."

The phrase "...charged via diesel driven fire pump(s)." is being changed to "...normally charged via diesel driven fire pump(s)."

The Fire Protection header is only required to be charged to implement Table A.4-4 "Manually Depressurize SGs and Use Portable Pump" and Table A.4-6 "Containment Flooding with Portable Pump" to meet the Engineering calculations associated with the B.5.b Strategies. Table A.4-4 "Manually Depressurize SGs and Use Portable Pumps" requires a charged header and the use of 3.00-inch Fire Hose. Table A.4-6 "Containment Flooding with Portable Pump" requires a charged header when using 2.50-inch Fire Hose.

All other B.5.b Strategies can be accomplished in a timelier manner and more safely, utilizing the Salem or Hope Creek Fire pumps, if available.

System Engineering calculations justify this change.
