POTENTIAL RENEWAL OF OPERATING LICENSES - UPDATE SALEM GENERATING STATIONS UNITS I AND 2 HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE DPR-70, DPR-75 AND NPF-57 DOCKET NOS. 50-272, 50-311, AND 50-354 In a letter dated March 20, 2000, Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSEG) indicated that contingent on the satisfactory conclusion of an assessment that license renewal is in the best interests of the Company and its stakeholders, it was PSEG's projection at that time that license renewal applications for both Salem and Hope Creek would be submitted in 2007. The purpose of this letter is to provide an updated status to assist the NRC staff in resource planning.
Our review is ongoing; however, PSEG has concluded that license renewal applications for the Salem and Hope Creek Generating Stations will not be submitted in 2007. We will conclude our review in 2006 and will provide an updated status.
