SUBJECT:

Deletion of License Renewal Commitments Due to Replacement of Components The purpose of this letter is to notify the NRC that two (2) license renewal commitments made by the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) in References 2 and 3 are no longer necessary due to the replacement of the affected equipment. Therefore, OPPD is informing the NRC that these commitments are deleted . The commitments are as follows:

Commitment No.1 OPPO has conservatively included Loss of Material as an AERM [Aging Effect Requiring Management] for Alloy 600 in borated treated water ... To validate the effectiveness of the Chemistry program, OPPO will determine the worst-case location for the potential occurrence of this AERM and perform a one-time inspection of this location prior to the period of extended operation. (Response to Item 3.1.2-5. See Page 133 of Attachment to Reference 2)

Justification After the commitment was made, OPPD elected to reP.lace this equipment (i .e., reactor pressure vessel head , steam generators, and pressurizer), which occurred during the Employm ent with Eqll al Opportllnity

u.s. Nuclear Regulatory Commission L1C-12-0064 Page 2 2006 refueling outage. The replacement components are not fabricated with Alloy 600 but rather with Alloy 690 or stainless steel.

Commitment No.2 OPPD commits to performance of a one-time inspection prior to the period of extended operation to determine the condition of the fire protection fuel oil tank and verify it is not in a degraded condition . (Response to POI-7c. See Page 54 of Attachment to Reference 3)

Justification The fire protection fuel oil tank was replaced in 2010 due to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements for inspecting diesel fuel oil tanks. The old tank could not be inspected due to the enclosure around the tank ; the new tank does not have an enclosure.

No additional commitments to the NRC are contained in this letter.
