ATTACilMENT NRC JPECIAL REPORT METEROLOGICAL INSTRUMENTATION OUT OF SERVICE GREATER TilAN 7 DAYS On August 1,1991 the entire St. Lucie site meteorological s:stion was removed from service.

The reason for placing the site meterological station out of service was due to a planned plant modification to replace obsolete meterological equipment. This modi 0 cation entails new instrumentation, a new mete:ological tower, and new communication equipment. The modifications and instrument calibration will be completed on or before 29 August,1991, and the St. Lucie site meterological station will be placed back in service by that time.

As required by Technical Specification 3.3.3.4, this Special Report is being submitted to notify the NRC that the St. Lucie site meteralogical station has been removed from service for greater than 7 days. As a compensatory measure, all ralease of gaseous radioactive material from the radwaste gas decay tanks at both units was suspended. Additionally, communication checks have been made with the National Weather Service in West Palm Beach.
