SELECT SYSTEM REVIEW AUGUST 1987 PROGRESS Safet En ineerin Grou (SEG) Review The SEG has commenced its closeout review of Unit 3 Select Systems.

The closeout report is expected to be completed on time, within sixty days following the end of the current Unit 3 outage.

Confi ration Mana ement Efforts to identify and update affected drawings resulting from the implementation of select system modifications (reference L-86-527) has commenced.

This effort is expected to be completed on time, within one-hundred and twenty days following the end of the current Unit 3 outage.

Other Si ificant Pro ress Implemented Component Cooling Water (CCW) heat exchanger cathodic protection electrical modifications Added instrument taps on CCW heat exchanger outlet Closed approximately thirty nonconformance reports (NCR's) on CCW (details available on request)

Pressure locking and thermal binding of gate valves Revised Emergency Containment Coolers (ECC) procedure 3/4 EOP-ECA-0.2 Repaired ECC bypass control valve condulets Calibrated local ECC pressure indicators Developed DC switchgear criteria for inspection, testing and servicing
