Re: Turkey Point Units 3 and 4 Dockets 50-250 and 50-25 I Proposed License Amendment Emer enc Power S stems Periodic Tests In accordance with IO CFR 50.90, Florida Power Bc Light submits herewith three signed originals, and forty copies of a request to amend Appendix A of Facility Operating Licenses DPR-3 I and DPR-4 I.
Technical specification 4.8.l.c. I requires that each diesel generator be subjected to an inspection in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations at least once each eighteen months.
The proposed amendments would defer the inspection of both diesel generators until the next Unit 3 refueling outage, scheduled to begin in March l987.
The inspections would then be performed during each succeeding Unit 3 refueling outage.
By deferring these inspections, they would be performed with only one unit at power as would normally be the case during a refueling outage.
Approval of this request is necessary before November I I, l986.
The currently required inspection for Diesel Generator A must be completed by that date.
The proposed changes are described below and shown on the accompanying Technical Specification pages.
Pa es 4.8.l - 4.8.3 Technical Specification 4.8.l.c.l is revised to require that the l8 month diesel generator inspection be performed during each Unit 3
refueling outage.
Additional changes were made to the remaining sections because of this change.
lt has been determined that the proposed amendment does not involve a
significant hazards consideration pursuant to IO CFR 50.92.
A no significant hazards consideration evaluation is attached.
ln accordance with IO CFR 50.9l(b)(l), a copy of this proposed license amendment is being forwarded to the State Designee for the State of Florida.
