Re: St. Lucie Unit 2 Docket No. 50-389 - 50.55(e)82-002 Fan Belt Problems During initial Startuo of Diesel Generator On February 10, 1982, Florida Pouer & Light Company (FPL) notified the Region 11 Office of Inspection and Enforcement, in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.55(e), of a potential deficiency regarding the fan belts on diesel generators 2A and 28. An interim report submitted to you on October I, 1982 stated that a final report would submitted by November 30, 1982. To date, some modifications have been made to the diesel generators.
Houever, additional modifications are necessary to fully correct the problem. We are still working on this problem and expect to submit a final report by January 20,1983.
