Docket No. 50-335 Post-TNI Re ui rements This letter is to inform you of our progress toward the implementation of NUREG-0737 item II.E.1.2.
In our letter of January 2,
1981 (L-81-4) we described the Auxiliary Feedwater (AFW) System modifications which would be implemented by January 1, 1982.
We intend to install the safety-grade equipment associated with the automatic initiation of AFW flow during the current refueling outage.
Upon implementation, St. Lucie 1 will have addressed all the NUREG requi rements regarding auto-initiation of AFW.
However, the Auxiliary Feedwater Logic Cabinet which incorporates additional AFW capabilities (automatic isolation of a faulted steam generator or high energy line break) not required by the NUREG cannot be installed and tested during this refueling outage due to the equipment delivery dates.
We plan to implement this portion of the system during the next refueling outage.
We will inform you should we meet any unexpected delays that would affect this schedule.
