Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
Re: St. Lucie Unit 2 Docket No. 50-389 Modutronic Controller / Allen Bradley Selector Switches On June 24, 1981, Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) notified the Region II Office of Inspection and Enforcement of a potential 10CFR50.55(e) deficiency regarding the mounting of Modutronic Con-troller / Allen Bradley Selector Switches. During fabrication of the boxes containing the control switches, the slot to hold the locking ring was omitted. As a result the locking rings were left off.
In this condition the switch housing rotates when the switch is turned which could result in broken, damaged, or shorted connections. FPL is evaluating this deficiency and we expect to provide you, additional information by August 3,~ 1981.
Very truly yours, b-L O
