U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, D.C. 20555-0001 Re: Florida Power & Light Company Turkey Point Units 6 and 7 May 3, 2018 Docket Nos.52-040 and 52-041 Voluntary Response to NRG RIS 2017-08

- 1. NRG Regulatory Issue Summary 2017-08 dated December 21, 2017, Process for Scheduling and Allocating Resources in Fiscal Years 2020 Through 2022 for the Review of New Licensing Applications For Light-Water Reactors And Non-Light-Water Reactors
- 2. NRG Letter to FPL Dated April 12, 2018 - Issuance of Combined Licenses for Turkey Point Units 6 and 7
- 3. FPL Letter L-2016-167 to NRG Dated August 15, 2016 - Voluntary Response to NRG RIS 2016-08 The purpose of this letter is to provide the voluntary response to Regulatory Issue Summary 2017-08 (RIS 2017-08; Reference 1). RIS 2017-08 requests that holders of a Combined License (COL) provide their licensing action submittals expected during fiscal years 2020 -
2022 to assist the NRG to more efficiently and effectively plan its licensing and inspection activities.
Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) was issued COLs NPF-104 and NPF-105 for Turkey Point Units 6 and 7 on April 12, 2018 (Reference 2). FPL expects the Turkey Point 6 & 7 project will remain paused over the next several years while FPL continues to monitor the AP1000 construction projects in China and the United States. Consequently, FPL does not anticipate any licensing action submittals in fiscal years 2020 - 2022.
This response supersedes FPL's response to RIS 2016-08 (Reference 3).
