August 10, 2007 FPL L-2007-127 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555-00001 Re: Turkey Point Units 3 and 4 Docket Nos. 50-250, 50-251 Generic Letter 2003-01 Control Room Habitability - Supplement to 180 Day Response On June 12, 2003, the NRC issued Generic Letter (GL) 2003-01, "Control Room Habitability,"

requesting all addressees to submit information demonstrating that the control rooms at their facilities comply with the current licensing and design bases, and applicable regulatory requirements, and that suitable design, maintenance, and testing control measures are in place for maintaining this compliance.

By letter L-2003-299 dated August 11, 2003, Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) provided the 180-day response to GL 2003-01. Attachment 2 of L-2003-299 provided the GL response for Turkey Point Unit 3 and Unit 4. This letter supplements FPL's response to GL 2003-01, Item 1(c) for Turkey Point Units 3 and 4.

Turkey Point Units 3 and 4 share a single control room and have a single train control room ventilation system designed and licensed as an emergency system. Based on conversations with NRC staff, Turkey Point will submit a license amendment request (LAR) to adopt portions of Technical Specifications Task Force traveler (TSTF-448), "Control Room Habitability," as applicable to Turkey Point's unique design features. FPL plans to submit the LAR by September 30, 2008.

If you have any questions, please contact James Connolly at (305) 246-6632.

Sincerely yot
