Florida Power & Light Company. 6501 S.Ocean Drive, Jensen Beach, FL 34957 June 15, 2005 FPL L-2005-131 10 CFR 50.4 U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 RE: St. Lucie Unit 2 Docket No. 50-389 NEI 97-06 Steam Generator Report This report is provided in accordance with the industry initiative to implement Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 97-06, Steam Generator Program Guidelines. Specifically NEI 97-06, Section 3.1.7, Reports to NRC, requires the licensee to submit condition monitoring assessment results, including results of tube pulls and in situ testing, within 120 days after the reactor coolant system reenters hot shutdown conditions. NEI 97-06 requires the report when steam generator inspection results indicate greater than 1% of the inspected tubes in each steam generator exceed the repair criteria.

As a result of the SL2-15 inspections in January 2005, a total of 1635 tubes were plugged (798 in S/G 2A and 837 in S/G 2B). This amount exceeds 1% of the tubes inspected in each steam generator.

Florida Power & Light's (FPL) Condition Monitoring Assessment results demonstrate that all tubes meet the structural integrity and accident induced leakage performance criteria of NEI 97-06 for Cycle 14, which ended in January 2005.

Condition Monitoring work for the January 2005 inspections did not require removal of tubes from the steam generators. Twelve tubes (19 indications) were in situ pressure tested. Nine of the 19 indications tested were below the screening criteria and did not require testing, but were included to ensure the screening process was robust. All tubes passed in situ pressure testing without leakage or burst.
