SUBJECT:

James' A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-333 Correction to Proposed Technical Specification Amendment Reaardina Allowed Containment Leakane Rate (JPTS-97 007) (TAC MA1136)

Reference:

NYPA Letter, James Knubel to the NRC (JPN-98-007), "Lhanges to the Technical Specifications Regarding the Allowed Containment Leakage Rate (L.) (JPTS-97-OO7), dated February 26,1998, h.

Dear Sir:

I This letter provides a coerection to the referenced Technical Specification umendment

. request. The proposed amendment stated that References 19,20, and 21 of the TS

- assumed a Standtiy Gas Treatment (SBGT) system charcoal filter efficiency of 90% for halogens.} 11 vo discovered that reference 19 (Technical Support Center post-accident radiological habitability study) did not assume a 90% SBGT system charcoal efficiency, but rather assumed an efficiency of 99%..The calculation has been revised to assume a 90%

charcoal filter efficiency and is forwarded to the NRC as part of this letter. Based on the revised calculation, Reference 19 on TS page 285 needs to be ahanged frem Revision 0 to

. Revision 1. The revision does not effect the No Significant Vazards conclusion reached in the referenced TS submittal nor the Basis of the Technical Specification Amendment.

Attachments I and ll contain the revised and m+rked-up TS page 285, respectively. These pages replace those submitted as part of the h..erenced submittal. Attachment lli contains the revised calculation, if you have any questions, please conte :t Mr. Robert Steigerwald at (315) 349-6209.

<There'are no' commitments made in this letter.
