NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

0F OPERATING EXPERIENCE MARCH 1984 The unit operated at near full thermal power for the

.1 first two days of the reporting period. On 840303 the unit was taken out of service for control rod drive maintenance and Induction Heat Stress Improve-ments. FitzPatrick plant returned to service on 840314.

On 840322 the unit tripped on low reactor water level.

The low level was caused by the loss of the "B" Feedwater pump due to a wiped bearing while the "A" pump was out of service for maintenance. Repairs were completed and .

startup commenced on 840325. During startup the unit again tripped'due to low level caused by the loss of "A"_ -

Reactor Feed Pump. Repairs were completed and the unit returned to service on 830326.

At the end of the reporting period the unit is operating ~

at.approximately 744 MWe. ,
