SUMMARY

Commenced downpower to remove circulating water pumps from service in order to combat lowering screenwell intake water levels caused by environmental conditions (frazil ice formation on intake bar racks). While at reduced power, the "A' reactor feed pump seal failed. The main turbine was taken offline to remove steam from the system and allow pump seal replacement The main turbine was put back on line when seal repairs were complete, and power ascension commenced.
