SUMMARY
The FitzPatrick plant - with the exception of minor derates for rod adjustments - operated at or near rated power for the duration of the month of October 2002.
0 October 2, 2002 -0614
"* October 6, 2002 - 1950 October 30, 2002 - 0406 The plant commenced a power reduction in response to a seal leak on the
'A' feedwater pump. Power was reduced to 52% at 0642 and the 'A' feedwater pump was removed from service at 0705.
Due to plant conditions, repairs to the 'A' feedwater pump could not be made and the plant remained at 55% power for the remainder of the cycle.
The plant commenced shutdown for Refueling Outage 15. The main turbine was taken offline at 0119 on October 7, and the plant reached All Rods In at 0616.
The plant commenced startup from the refuel outage. The mode switch was taken to startup, placing the plant in mode 2. The reactor was made critical at 0530. Power ascension continued until the main turbine was placed online at 0331 on October 31. The main turbine was tripped offline at 1222 for overspeed testing and placed back online at 1408. Power ascension then continued through the end of October, concluding the month at roughly 50% power.
