[Z] Temporary Job Site Inspection Rawsonville Road at US- I 2, Belleville, MI PROGRAM SCOPE This was an announced field inspection of a large non-destructive testing company authorized to use radioactive material for industrial radiography at numerous field stations and at temporary job sites throughout NRC jurisdiction. The scope of this inspection was limited to observations of radiographic testing on the premises of a natural gas pipeline terminal in Belleville, Michiga PERFORMANCE OBSERVATIONS The inspector observed the conduct of radiographic operations by the licensee's crew at the job site in Belleville. The inspector noted the satisfactory implementation and control ofrestricted area boundaries during these operations, as supported by independent and confirmatory surveys. The inspector also noted adequate compliance with physical presence requirements for radiographic operations. Through interviews, the inspector found that both members of the crew were knowledgeable of radiation protection principles, licensee procedures and regulatory requirements, and that their dosimetry and survey instruments were calibrated, operable, and properly utilized. The radiographic exposure device they used a SPEC Model 150, was likewise in good condition and properly labeled. The crew also demonstrated the implementation of procedures for daily checks of the camera and associated equipment prior to commencing operations, as they had already completed these checks prior to arriving on the job sit The inspector reviewed a selection ofrecords, including shipping papers, utilization logs, leak test documentation, and records of recent job performance audits and refresher training for both crew member No violations ofNRC requirements were identified as a result of this inspection.
