2.
Site Tour The NRC inspector toured the reactor buildings for Units 1 and 2 and the mechanical electrical auxiliary building (MEAB) for Unit 1, to observe construction in process and to inspect housekeeping.
No violations or deviations were identified.
3.
Safety-Related Pipe Welding - Unit I a.
Review of Procedures The NRC inspector reviewed the following Ebasco procedures to assure that adequate controls have been established relative to welding of reactor coolant pressure boundary and other safety-related piping.

.
- Procedure WP-115, Revision 1, Welding Specification
Procedure WP-43, Revision 17, Welding Specification Procedure WP-24, Revision 18, Welding Specification
Procedure CSP-81, Revision 1, Welder Qualification
Procedure CSP-88, Revision 1, Weld Filler Material Control In the areas reviewed for the above procedures, the weld filler material control procedure, the welder qualification procedure, and welding procedures were consistent with the requirements of ASME B&PV Code - Sections III and IX.
b.
Observation of Work The NRC inspector observed the welding and quality control activities associated with fabricating the following safety-related piping welds:
Drawing Weld System Class EFS-G-1018-B FW 0007 Reactor Coolant
EFS-G-1018-B FW 0022 Reactor Coolant
EFS-G-1018-B FW 0024 Reactor Coolant
2F369P-SI-1301 FW 0001 Safety Injection
2F369P-SI-1301 FW 0002 Safety Injection
2F369-SI-1301 FW 0005A Safety Injection
3M369P-RM-1015 FW 0015 Reactor Water Makeup
3M369P-RM-1015 FW 0016 Reactor Water Makeup
3M369P-CC-1309 FW 0003 Component Cooling
In the areas inspected for the above welds, the welding was accomplished in accordance with the welding procedure; the entries on each weld data card for releasing QC hold points were consistent with the status of the weld; the piping components and welding filler materials were traceable to certified material test reports; and the welders or welding operators were qualified to requirements of ASME B&PV Code,Section IX.
No violations or deviations were identified.
4.
Exit Interview The NRC inspector met with the licensee representatives (denoted in paragraph 1) on May 20, 1983, and summarized the purpose, scope, and findings of the inspection.
