The inspector discussed the organizational / functional alignment with the applicant's QA management personnel. Prior to the inspection, the inspector examined selected sections of the, applicant's QA manuals to determine that they are current and comply with the 10 CFR 50 Appendix B Criteria. Schedules for procuring equipment and accomplishing ~other activities were discussed with the licensee.

No deviations were identified.

The licensee stated that they have reviewed their design and find that the equipment is nou in use or planned for use in safety-related equipment for the Perkins Nuclear Station. This item is closed.

(Closed) IEB 78-06 Defective Cutler-Hammer Type M Relays With DC Coils RII has received DPC's letter of response to their bulletin, dated July 25, 1978. The licensee states that the subject items are not used or planned for use in safety-related systems at Perkins. This_ item is-closed.

Site Inspection

The Perkins Site, which is near Mocksville, North-Carolina, was

inspected on November 3, 1978, to gain faciliarity with the suricunding i

area, site topography, site layout and proposed location of the nuclear service water dam.

No construction work.is be'ing performed at the site.

Exit Interview An exit interview was held with the applicants corporate office repre-sentatives (denoted in paragraph 1) at Charlotte, North Carolina on November 3, 1978. The applicant was advised that no deviations were identified.
