Dear Mr. Dietrich:
The NRC has completed sufficient independent inspection activities to conclude that Southern California Edison's corrective actions for Confirmatory Order EA-07-232 (ADAMS Reference ML080110380) have satisfied the terms of the Confirmatory Order.
On January 11, 2008; the NRC issued the enclosed Confirmatory Order to Southern California Edison (SCE) as a result of a Successful alternative dispute resolution mediation session between SCE and the NRC. The Confirmatory Order contained specific commitments, made by SCE as part of the settlement agreement in response to violations concerning the falsification of firewatch certification sheets on numerous occasions from April 2001 to December 2006.
The NRC conducted Confirmatory Order follow-up inspections to assess the adequacy, progress, and.sustainability of the corrective actions. The results of these inspections are documented in Inspection Report 05000361/362/2008012 (ML083390399), Inspection Report 05000361/362/2009003 (ML092120548), Inspection Report 05000361/362/2010010 (ML102420696), and Inspection Report 05000361/362/2010005. Based on the results of the follow-up inspections, the NRC has determined that SCE has satisfied the terms of the Confirmatory Order.
Southern California Edison-2-EA 07-232 In accordance with 10. CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosures will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC's Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS).
