E. Fitzpatrick Vice President 1 Riverside Plaza Columbus, OH 43216
Dear Hr.'itzpatrick:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Hr. J.
F. Schapker of this office on February 16 through March 31, 1994.
The inspection included a review of authorized activities for your D.
C.
Cook Nuclear Plant facility.
The focus of this inspection was on your erosion/corrosion and inservice inspection (ISI) effort's.
At the conclusion of the 'inspection, the findings were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the enclosed report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report.
Within these are'as, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures, representative records, observation of activities and interviews with personnel.
Management and performance of both the ISI and erosion/corrosion activities were found acceptable.
Your augmented inspection of steam generator tubes in the tubesheet region and considerable inspection effort applied to your erosion/corrosion program are viewed as proactive.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
