Areas Inspected: Routine, unannounced inspection of previously identified items. Inspection areas included monthly source calibration for the cooling water gamma monitor, daily and weekly surveillance tests, releases of liquid effluents to the sanitary sewer system, annual report update, contamination control, calibration source for the gas flow proportional counter, and cali-bration records. The inspection involved 8 inspector hours ont,ite by one NRC inspector.
Results: Of the seven areas inspected, no apparent items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Licensee Action on Previous Inspection Findings (Closed) Noncompliance (78-02-01) Monthly Source Calibrations for the Cooling Water Gamma Monitor.
The inspector verified that since August 1978, the Cooling Water Gamaa Monitor has been calibrated monthly. The inspector had no further questions on this item.
(Closed) Noncompliance (78-03-02-02) Daily and Weekly Surveillance Tests Required by Technical Specification Table 4.2.
The inspector verified that the tests required ny Table 4.2 were being performed with a radiation source as the signal input.
The inspector also noted changes to procedures 2002, " Weekly Precritical Startup Checklist", and 2003, " Daily Startup Checklist" which lists the channels to be tested.
The inspector had no further questions on this item.
(Closed) Noncomplaince (78-02-03) Release of Liquid Effluents to the Sanitary Sewer _in Excess of Technical Specification 3.4(a)(1).
The inspector vertried that since July 1978, liquid effluents have not exceeded 3 X 10 6 pCi/ml gross beta activity and noted that the limits are now in the liquid waste log book.

RII Rpt. No. 50-160/79-1-2-(Closed) Noncompliance (78-02-04) Annual Report.
The inspector noted that the licensee supplemented the annual report by letter, dated October 23, 1978, to meet the requirements of Section 6.7a of the Technical Specifications. The inspector had no further questions on this item.
(Closed) Unresolved Item (78-02-05) Contamination Control.
The inspector reviewed the records of contamination surveys taken since August 1, 1978, and found them to be adequate.
The inspector noted that surveys were normally conducted daily.
The inspector also noted the exception taken in the licensees letter of October 5, 1976.
The letter allowed contamination control limits to be changed at the discretion of Radiological Safety Officer.
(Closed) Open Item (78-02-09) Calibration Source for Gas Flow Proportional Counter.
The inspector noted that the Gas Flow Propor-tional Counter has been recalibrated with a cobalt-60 source and found to be 18.67% efficient. The inspector had no further questions on this item.
(Closed) Open Item (78-02-10) Calibration Records.
The inspector reviewed form RS-14a (revised 9/78), entitled " Instrument Calibration Record" and noted that the licensee records the initial and final readings for all calibrations. The inspector had no further questions on this item.
