| Event Description | The following information was provided by the licensee via phone and email:
At 0234 EST on February 18, 2025, VC Summer (VCS) was notified by Dominion Energy IT that VCS had lost Dominion Energy Emergency Notification System (DEENS) capability. VCS confirmed that they had lost DEENS and the ability to activate the ERO (Emergency Response Organization) with the backup phone number. At approximately 0705, DEENS communication functionality was restored and is currently available for use. The loss of ERO activation capability is reportable per 10 CFR 50.72(b)(3)(xiii), any event that results in a major loss of offsite communications capability. The NRC Senior Resident Inspector has been notified. |
