Dear Commissioners and Staff:
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) submitted the MSA for Flooding Report to the NRC in April2017 (Reference 1). During subsequent reviews of this submittal, it was discovered that Table 1 of the report referenced an incorrect elevation datum. As previously discussed with your staff, the following changes were made to correct the table:
- Th-e datum referenced in the second column of Table 1 entitled "Stillwater Elevation and Reevaluated Hazard Elevation (ft NAVD88)" was incorrectly shown as "(ft NAVD88);" whereas, the values shown in the table are calculated based on "(local PG&E datum)." To correct this error, the column datum was changed from (ft NAVD88) to (ft local PG&E datum).
The relationship between "local PG&E datum" and "NAVD88 datum" was clarified within Note 3 of the table to state that 0.687 feet should be added to the "local PG&E datum" to convert these values to "NAVD88 datum."
- The first entry in column 2 for Door A 1.1 was changed from 87.48 (ft NAVD88) to 86.79 (ft local PG&E datum) to be consistent with the datum clarification.
No other changes were made in Table 1 of the MSA for Flooding Report. Further, the evaluations and conclusions provided in Reference 1 remain unchanged.
