Subject:

TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY - EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS DEPARTMENT PROCEDURE REVISION In accordance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.54(q) and 10 CFR 72.44(f), Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is submitting a description of changes to the TVA Radiological Emergency Plan (REP). The affected document is an Emergency Preparedness Department Procedure (EPDP).

Document Revision Title Effective Date EPDP-3 17 Emergency Plan Exercises and Preparedness Drills 1/31/2020

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission CNL-20-022 Page 2 February 24,2020 Description of Changes and Summary of Analysis EPDP-3 TVArevised this EPDP by clarifyingthe requirement for tracking the demonstration of Initiating Conditions, by adding guidelines for ensuring the security of drill and exercise scenario material, by clarifying the expected response for a phone call received during a briefing, and by updating the dates for the most recent assembly and accountability drills for each site, as well as correcting the corresponding eight year cycle dates. In addition, editorial changes were made to fix grammatical and typographical errors, to remove redundant wording, and to update references.

The above changes were evaluated in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q)(3) and 10 CFR 72.44(f). TVAdetermined that the changes did not reduce the effectiveness of the TVAREP. The TVA REP, as revised, continues to meet the requirements in Appendix E to 10 CFR 50 and the planning standards of 10 CFR 50.47(b).

There are no new regulatory commitments in this letter. Please address any questions regarding this submittal to Kimberiy D. Hulvey, Fleet Licensing Manager, at (423) 751-3275.
