Subject:

Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Unit Nos. 1 and 2 Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-71 and DPR-62 Docket Nos. 50-325 and 50-324 Date Change for 2014 and 2015 Licensed Operator Exams

Dear Mr. McCree:

As requested per a phone conversation between Michael Nemec, Supervisor of Nuclear Operations Training (Duke Energy Progress, Inc.), and Phillip Capehart of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in January 2014, Duke Energy is informing the Commission of a date change for the 2014 Annual Operating Exam. The exam was originally scheduled to take place on November 3, 2014, during Operator Training Cycle 14-6, but is being moved forward to July 21, 2014, during Training Cycle 14-4. This will support implementation of new Emergency Operating Procedures following the Unit 2 refueling outage in 2015.

Additionally, the 2015 Biennial Written and Annual Operating Exam will be moved from November 2, 2015, during Training Cycle 15-6 to September 14, 2015, during Training Cycle 15-5. This change will support administration and remediation, as necessary, and move this away from the December holiday schedule.

This document contains no regulatory commitments.

Please refer any questions regarding this submittal to Mr. Lee Grzeck, Manager - Regulatory Affairs, at (910) 457-2487.

Sincerely, Aqnn tte
