Ladies and Gentlemen:
On February 24, 2003, Carolina Power & Light Company, now doing business as Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc. (PEC), notified the NRC of its intent to submit a license renewal application for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant (BSEP), Units 1 and 2 in December 2004.
Given current status of the license renewal project, the BSEP license renewal application will be submitted in October 2004, rather than December 2004. The updated schedule has been communicated to Dr. Pao-Tsin Kuo, who indicated that it would not negatively impact NRC resources.
