FPC to NRC, 3F0595-02, letter dated May 19, 1995
Dear Sir:
The referenced letter provided the NRC with a one-time schedular examption request from the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix J,
" Primary Reactor Containment Leakage Testing (ILRT) for Water Cooled Reactors", testing frequency for Crystal River Unit 3 (CR-3).
Florida Power Corporation (FPC) requested approval for performing the next ILRT during our Refueling Outage 11 (RJ1) currently scheduled for Spring of 1998.
FPC is supplementing the basis previously provided for the exemption request with a commitment to perform a general inspection of the accessible interior and exterior surfaces of the containment structure during our Refueling Outage 10 scheduled for February 1996. The scope of the inspection will be the same as the inspection performed as part of an ILRT.
The objective of the proposed inspection would be to uncover any evidence of structural deterioration that may affect the containment structural integrity.
