Dear Sir:

This extension of the third IST interval will permit completion of all required implementing activities required for the fourth IST inspection Interval.
The extension of an IST inspection interval is discussed in Section 3.3.1 of NUREG 1482, Revision 1, "Guidelines for Inservice Testing at Nuclear Power Plants," and is in accordance with Subsection ISTA 3120(d) of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Operations and Maintenance (OM)

Adjustments shall not cause successive intervals to be altered by more than one year from the original pattern of intervals." CR-3 has not utilized this extension allowance for previous IST intervals.
No new regulatory commitments are made in this letter.
