Crystal River Unit 3, Fifth Containment Tendon Surveillance
Dear Sir:
Florida Power Corporation (FPC) performed the fifth Containment Tendon Surveillance from November 11, 1993 through January 4, 1994. This surveillance was performed to satisfy the requirements of Technical Specification _4.6.1.6.1.
FPC had intended to generally follow tb guidance of-Regulatory Guide 1.35, j
Revision 3, July 1990, " Inservice Inspection of Ungrouted Tendons In Prestressed Concrete Containments". This Regulatory Guide was subsequently incorporated into the CR-3 Technical Specifications by Amendment 148 (implemented January 3,'1994).
During the testing, prior to Amendment 148, all tendons tested met the acceptance criteria of the Regulatory Guide except one.
The surveillance was accepted by FPC since all tendons met the applicable Technical Specification acceptance criteria for lift-off forces in effect at the time of the testing.
