By letter dated July 13,1998 (2CAN079803), Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 2 (ANO-2) proposed technical specification (TS) bases changes relevant to several TS sections. As a result of communications with the NRC Project Manager, an enhancement to the TS bases associated with specification 2.1.2, Reactor Coolant System Pressure, is desired.
The TS bases for reactor coolant system (RCS) pressure references ASME Code editions and addendas that were used to design the reactor coolant system components. The footnote at the bottom of the bases page discusses guidance to be used when applying later editions and addendas of the ASME Code to RCS components. Per discussion with the NRC Project Manager, the attached revision to this footnote is submitted to provide clarity to the aforementioned guidance The guidance that will be used is in accordance with Section XI,
