As a precautionary

measure, the overspeed mechanism was removed and inspected.

Mechanical overspeed trip weight was improperly set.

Antrlvsis of Occurrence:

There was no damage to plant equipment, no injury to personnel, no danger to health or safety of the public, no reduction in power generation.

Ball and tappet assembly was replaced, trip weight properly set, and overspeed tests run to ensure proper'peration.-

Unit 1 overspeed trip mechanism was inspected to ensure proper setting on 7/16/79.

Unit 3 will be inspected prior to startup from refueling outage.
